How to remove vomit from carpets and other fabrics
Vomit is not nice. This is contamination and biological matter.
These calls are classed as an emergency and are addressed the same day. No cost can be advised until we arrive on site and see for ourselves the severity or simplicity.
It can be caused by many things, just being unwell, tablets, drinks or food. The stomach creates acids that when mixed with the explosion from the body can create stronger odours or even different colours.
A lot is clear, but I have cleaned up areas that have been red and green.
What we ask you to do is remove the solids.
Don’t try to resolve the issue yourself.
You will apply pressure and push the problem into the fibres, and as has been known, into the underlay.
We will do the following for you.
Flush the area with just cold water under high pressure. This will break down any small particles and hopefully any staining and odours.
We then treat the section with an enzyme solution allow this to dwell and again a cold flush. The reason for using cold tap water is that we don’t seal anything into the fibres.
Now we turn the heat up on the machine to create steam vapour.
This level of heat will eliminate any biological problems such as bacteria.
Once complete, we now apply a powerful deodoriser that neutralises smells.
The area tackled will now be dried out by either an air mover or a hairdryer.
Once am happy I will ask the customer to smell for their approval.
The only downturn is that once our work is complete, this will highlight the dirtier areas which you may want to clean as well.
